XIII

"A figure stands in the dead of night,
his body tensed, prepared to fight.
His skin and clothes drenched with the rain,
blades for hands, designed for pain.

His long wet hair, as black as tar,
tries to hide the pale scars.
He’s seen things no person should,
committed things nobody could.

A soulless shadow in the dark,
he’ll wreak his terror, leave his mark.
By the time that dawn has broken,
a victim’s last words have been spoken.

Shrieks cut through the cloudy sky,
but no one hears the desperate cry.
He slips away, remains unseen,
blood stains the weeds the weeds that once were green.

A lonely moon struggles to shine,
a film of mist that smells of brine.
Wind howling down the alley way,
painted darkest shades of grey."
